There's the jet surf!

Summer currently seems a long way off, yet people at Surfers and Lakeside Paradise are busy preparing for it daily.
Part of that preparation also includes trying out new equipment and new water sports each time.
So this week, the Radinn and Awake jet surfers were tried out on the Duneswater Lake at Lakeside Paradise.

A Jetsurf is in fact an e-surfboard, i.e. electrically powered, consisting of a rather large surfboard into which, in addition to a battery, the necessary technology is built in order to then move forward on the water via the already known Jet technology. Water is thus sucked up at the bottom of the board, which is propelled out the back in a powerful way. The driver stands on the jet board and steers it by shifting weight in the right direction. The speed of the electric surfboard is controlled via a wireless remote control in the hand, ensuring complete control. Via the ankle, there is a magnetic lock on the motor, which therefore immediately fails in the event of a fall.

These Jetboards are Swedish-made and have already undergone an evolution of some 10 years. Of course, using them requires some skill. Speeds of up to 60 km/h can be reached and there are models for both beginners and advanced surfers. The smaller the board, the shorter the turns, while jumps can also be made with some wave action. An app connects the device to your smartphone and allows you to select "easy", "medium" and "pro" modes before setting off.

In this way, Surfers and Lakeside Paradise are capitalising on the latest trend after e-foiling was also introduced years ago and a veritable Flash School was established last year.
So now it is looking at whether jetboarding can also enhance the offer.

Watersports camps on offer
Each time, these new trends are also tested to see if they can be offered during the youth water sports camps.
These camps start as early as the Easter holidays and of course run throughout the summer months.
New for this summer are the Kite, wing and foil camps where all participants can get to know wingfishing, the water sport par excellence that is now conquering the entire world.
If you want to be there , then registering quickly is the message because currently it looks like it will be a busy camp summer.
At Lakeside Paradise, interest is also high for wakeboard camps. It is important to note that there are now also morning wakeboard camps that are no longer offered as holidays plus placements, so if you are waiting for that, it is better to book your place as soon as possible via paradise-webshop.be where you will also find an overview of all other possible water sports camps.
