WHAT A RIDE!
Retrieved from Sunday, 4 October We’re officially bringing our 39th summer season to a close. Or rather: we’re shifting down a gear, because we’re certainly not going anywhere!
Right at this very moment, we’re gradually getting our beach ready for winter. After months of sun, sea, wind, waves, sport and, above all, plenty of Paradise vibes, we’re now switching to our winter routine. Surfers Paradise remains open at weekends and during the Flemish school holidays throughout the winter, including the autumn, Christmas and spring half-term holidays.
And before you know it, it’ll be Easter again and we’ll be back Open every day and ready for our 40th season!
2026: another season to remember
What. A. Season. Since the season opened in early April, there’s been so much going on on and around the beach.
Thousands of hours on the water, countless waves, plenty of wind, sporting challenges, camps, lessons, training sessions, barbecues, and above all: loads of people enjoying everything that makes Surfers Paradise so special.
Surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, wing foiling, stand-up paddleboarding, e-foiling… we tried them all. And even on windless days, there was more and more to get stuck into.
Foildrive took centre stage once again during an extensive demo and test weekend, and also Parawing made its debut at Surfers Paradise. New gear, new disciplines, but still the same feeling: get out on the water as much as possible! Beach padel, Burn@the beach, Seawalk, Pilates and other beach activities also meant there really was always something going on.
From Beach Clean-up to Birthday Party
We started this year with our first ever Beach Clean Up. Because before we can enjoy our beach, we like to roll up our sleeves and do our bit to keep it clean. Then the classics followed in quick succession: the Easter dive, the Easter Brunch & Grab, the Watersports Day and our Mommy Surfday and Daddy Surfday. The youngest generation once again got its own Grommet Day, whilst during our annual G-water sports day proved that the sea and water sports really are for everyone. Our Ladies Day Of course, it was a must-attend event and once again turned out to be a brilliant, active day on the beach.
And then, of course, there was our summer…
Club nights, beach barbecues, camps, sport, sunsets, music and long evenings on the terrace. One of the absolute highlights being our 39th Birthday Party. Thirty-nine years of Surfers Paradise… that called for a celebration! And celebrate we certainly did. Also King of the Beach once again provided plenty of competition, spectacle and, above all, a great atmosphere on the sand.
65 kilometres of coastline. One mission: One of the most remarkable sporting stories of this summer was undoubtedly the Belgium’s Biggest Downwinder. The idea alone captures the imagination: kiteboarding from De Panne towards Zeebrugge, a journey of about 65 kilometres along the Belgian coast. Wind, waves, kilometres and adventure in its purest form.
It is precisely this sort of initiative that sums up what Surfers Paradise still stands for after 39 years: Keep dreaming, seek out new challenges and, above all… keep going!

Our Paradise Surf Team: the future of Paradise
Anyone who arrived at the beach early enough on Sunday morning would have seen a familiar sight by then: our Paradise Surf Team in action. Week after week, our young surfers train under professional guidance. They learn to read the sea, catch waves, fall, get back up again and, above all, enjoy surfing. They are the future of surfing.
And anyone who sees them at work knows that we needn’t worry too much about that future. The passion is being passed on — just as it has been for the past 39 years.
But Paradise is much more than just sport
Because, ultimately, it may not even be the matches, events or sporting achievements that make a season unforgettable.
It’s those dozens of ordinary, cosy days. An unexpected evening session because the wind suddenly picks up. One quick wave before sunset. Chatting on the terrace. A drink after a session. The children returning home from their surf camp, absolutely knackered but over the moon. The barbecues. The music. The friends you meet up with every summer.
And, of course, those sunsets that make us think, time and time again, that it simply couldn’t possibly be any more beautiful.
That’s Surfers Paradise.

Here’s to 40 years!
After 39 seasons, you’d think we’d be taking things a bit easier by now.
Think again.
Because whilst we’re getting the beach ready for winter, we’re of course already hard at work behind the scenes on 2027. And this won’t be just any old new season. Surfers Paradise is turning 40! Four decades of sea, wind, waves, friendship, innovation, celebration and a passion for water sports. So you can be sure we’re going to make it something special.
But first, let’s enjoy the winter a bit longer.
From 4 October, we look forward to welcoming you to weekends and Flemish school holidays. Time for winter surfing sessions, hot chocolate, brisk walks, storms out at sea and cosy moments in our clubhouse.
To everyone who has once again made the 2026 season such a fantastic year — our crew, members, surfers, kids, parents, partners, sponsors, volunteers and visitors: THANK YOU!
For your enthusiasm, your energy and, above all, for 39 years of trust in Paradise.
Summer may well be over… The excitement never stops. Off to 40 YEARS OF SURFERS’ PARADISE!
See you soon on the beach,
the Surfers Paradise Crew
