The surf season for the Rats & Chicks is over.
Since the Easter holidays, they have given their best every Sunday morning at Surfers Paradise.
Divided into small groups, they are prepared to become better surfers under expert guidance. Among them also a competition team that takes part in the various competitions organised everywhere, including abroad.
Training a surf team in Belgium is no easy task, especially as the waves just don't roll in on demand every Sunday morning. However, training is provided every time. There is not only the warm-up and the more physical part with surf-related exercises,
at flat sea, there is also paddling and carve skating, the land sport that most closely approximates real surf movements. There is also training behind the boat on surfboard and surf sessions were also on the programme at Lakeside Paradise's cable car.
So each time a well-filled Sunday morning, which, due to the success of last year, was now repeated on the artificial wave in the heart of Rotterdam.
The enthusiasm was great and everyone could surf to their hearts' content.
The artificial wave on which real surfing can be done was installed in a specially adapted channel and runs between the quay walls.
Training starts again from the Easter holidays, every Sunday morning from 10.30am - 12.30pm.
If interested in joining, email info@surfersparadise.be, all motivated surfers welcome from 8 years onwards.
