Koksijde vibes in Gran Canaria! Our Belgian windsurfing star Sol Degrieck, barely 15 years young and born with wind in her hair, once again showed her punishing side. At the Gran Canaria World Cup 2025, she made the water boil with a show that even the world's top windsurfers were bowled over by.
In the wave discipline semi-finals, Sol brought in the highest score of the day - yes, the very highest - and rocked her competitors. Jury? Impressed. Public? Out of their minds. The question hangs in the air: are we witnessing the next world champion here?
Those who know Sol know that this is no fluke. With three junior world titles to her name and a style that is at once bold, clean and mature, she is rewriting the handbook of women's windsurfing. What she shows? Pure class with a touch of rock 'n' roll.
And then there was the U18 series... Sol won every heat with fingers crossed and a smile on his face. Result? The trophy gets to cozy back to Koksijde.
But the party wasn't over yet. During the legendary super session, where the absolute world's top performers pull out all the stops in a freestyle jam, Sol went head-to-head with none other than Daida Moreno. And guess what? She took a handsome second place, with a double forward somersault that just gives you goosebumps.
