September = Sports Month

Throughout Flanders, September is all about the Month of the Sports Club — and here at Surfers Paradise, we’re naturally keen to get involved.

Because a sports club is so much more than just sport. It’s about getting out on the water together, meeting new people, pushing your limits, having fun and coming home with sand between your toes and a big smile on your face.

At Surfers Paradise, it’s all about that shared passion for the sea and water sports. From from surfing and SUP to windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoiling: September is the perfect time to get to know our club and the various water sports better

A sports club is, of course, all about exercise, training and improving. But anyone who’s ever visited Surfers Paradise knows that for us, it’s about much more than that.

Waiting together for the right wind. Helping each other with kit. Catching one last wave quickly before you get out of the water. A high five after a good session. Getting to know new people who share the same passion. And sometimes just chatting about a day at sea, with salty hair and sand between your toes.

That sense of community is just as important as what happens on the water. At Surfers Paradise, young and old, beginners and experienced water sports enthusiasts come together around a shared passion: the sea.

Which water sport is right for you?

The great thing about water sports is that there isn’t just one right way to enjoy the North Sea.

You might like to learn surf and experience for the first time what it’s like to ride a wave all the way to the end. Perhaps you’d prefer to enjoy a leisurely ride on a SUP board. Or do you only really start to get that itch when the wind picks up and the windsurf sails, kites and wings appear.

At Surfers Paradise, you can try out various sports:

  • Surfing & SUP
It’s ideal for taking your first steps on the water, but it’s also a sport in which you can continue to improve for years to come.
  • Windsurf
Wind, water, technology and speed combined in one fantastic water sport.
  • Kitesurf
For those who are looking for a bit more of an adrenaline rush and want to use the power of the wind to fly across the water.
  • Wingfoil
A relatively new sport that has become hugely popular in recent years. With a wing in your hands and a foil under your board, you almost literally glide over the water.

Perhaps you’ll know straight away which sport suits you. Perhaps you really have no idea. That’s absolutely fine. Just give whatever takes your fancy a go:

September is just the perfect time to discover it.

The busiest weeks of the summer are behind us, but the water sports season is certainly not over yet. On the contrary, September has a unique atmosphere on the Belgian coast. The beach becomes quieter, there’s more space again, and we regularly enjoy lovely late-summer days.

For water sports enthusiasts, too, this marks the start of a period when we’ll be checking the wind and wave forecasts a bit more often again.

Whilst others are gradually starting to put their summer gear away, surfers look at the same weather forecast and think: wWhen can we get back out on the water?

The seasons change, but our passion for the water remains.

Discover our range of water sports, get to know our crew and find your favourite way to get out on the water.

Because ‘summer’ may be over… But our Paradise is still open!

Check the forecasts via our webcam and weather service, or just pop round to the beach.
