Will it be sweltering hot this summer or are all the padel courts in Knokke-Heist occupied? No worries, from now on Surfers Paradise is the place for a game of "beach padel" with bare feet in the sand !
No, no cage or fences with glass on the beach, but 2 courts with real lines and a real padel net overlooking the sea.
Cost ? free if you bring your own padel rackets.
It does play with adapted tennis balls, and rackets can also be hired.
Just like a real padel match, the game is played 2 against 2, with the same point score but slightly different rules, adapted to the sandy surface, hence, of course, "beach padel".
Last weekend, a first real tournament already took place at Surfers Paradise, the participants were wildly enthusiastic, so a new beach sport is in the making.
The rules can be viewed online and to Surfers Paradise's reception sports centre, where rockets and balls can also be hired.
So there is nothing left but to come and discover this new beach sport, Surfers Paradise is open every day from 9am to sunset during the months of July and August.
