G water sports day 2026

Every year, Surfers Paradise in Knokke-Heist organises a sports day for people with disabilities. This year it will take place on Wednesday 17 June.

In cooperation with Wind & Watersport Flanders, we are committed to making surfing accessible to everyone, including people with physical, hearing, visual or mental disabilities. Thanks to adapted equipment and tailor-made sessions, each participant can enjoy the water safely and at his or her own pace.

Depending on weather and sea conditions, activities include wave surfing, boogie boarding and/or stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking. All activities take place at sea, within breakwaters, close to shore and up to about adult hip depth. For everyone's safety, each participant is given a life jacket.

Wave surfing involves riding a wave standing upright on a surfboard.
Boogie boarding is done lying on the stomach with a smaller, soft board.
In stand-up paddle boarding, you stand upright or in knee position on a large, stable board and move around with a paddle. We also have extra-large boards on which the instructor can sit together with the participant.

Each session consists of a warm aloha welcome, an initiation on the water and a drink afterwards.
